Sonic blast man 2 snes censorship5/29/2023 ![]() ![]() I remember Dad and I were completely blown away with Megaman X's opening stage the dynamic lighting of the stage that would brighten or darken as X approached streetlights, the enemies blowing holes in the concrete, and crashing Bee-Copter enemies taking out entire spans of a bridge, ended with one hell of an awesome fight and cutscene and aligned with some of the most iconic music I had ever heard. Contrary to my original concerns, I wound up loving Megaman X, playing through it more times than I'd care to count, and growing 100% enfatuated with the series as a whole, an affair that carried on for much longer than I'd care to remember. ![]() It was heavy stuff for a bunch of games where you basically run towards a given direction and blast the hell out of things. The storyline had changed as well instead of simply thwarting the umpteenth scheme of a mad scientist out to rule the world, the new robot, Mega Man X (or simply X), inhabits a dystopian world full of renegade robots, computer viruses, political intrigue, and a recurring villain named Sigma whose plots become more and more devastating. The bright colors and "Fill-in-the-Blank Man" boss robots were gone, replaced by a darker, grittier world and a gaggle of homocidal anthromorphic robots. Reading through the manual and backstory of MMX, I was amazed - Mega Man X took place over a century after the familiar Megaman games, and went in a very different direction in terms of everything from art design and character concepts to plot. I had heard that X represented a dramatic new step in the Mega Man series, but I had no idea that it was the beginning of a new series in and of itself. ![]() My dad, at the time, was a huge fan of Megaman himself (he prided himself on the fact that he beat MM3 no mean feat for an NES Newblet), and his present to me? A copy of Megaman X. Part of me groaned I had heard. Things, about this game and I was in no hurry to play it after MM6, but I played the nice guy and played it. It was mid May, and my birthday had just come up a week previous before Dad showed. All bits of information I gathered indicated that I wouldn't like it that much. I didn't like Megaman 6 much either (the Mr. X stupidity was a pretty dead-on indication that Capcom was starting to crank these out), but it had enough innovation to keep me playing it, and had good music, so there you go. A few bits of info I picked up here and there indicated that it was a very, very different Megaman game - gone was Wily, gone was Rush, and so forth. I had heard of Megaman X (called "Megaman Ten" by my idiot friends of mine) via my friends, though none of them had actually played it. I had long been a Megaman Fan (and in fact, had purchased Mega Man 6 via a friend who got it for me cheap). ![]() It was the glory days of the SNES, when one 16-Bit console was king, and everyone knew it - and only said system's ludicrous censorship policies so much as chipped away at the advantages of the Super Nintendo (and allowed the technologically inferior but software-wise innovative Genesis to carve its own deep niche). My own personal history with the Megaman X series began years ago, back when I was still but a lad in middle school, and back before my father vanished. It's a series I've long cherished and even longer played. It's also one I've analyzed deeply, and one that has had a rather tumultuous history in and of itself. Nota musical facebbok5/29/2023 ![]() ![]() In recent years, the policy has been used at a more rapid clip, including against the president of the United States, and taken on almost totemic power at the social network, trotted out to reassure the public whenever paroxysms of violence, from genocide in Myanmar to riots on Capitol Hill, are linked to Facebook. The restrictions appear to trace back to 2012, when in the face of growing alarm in Congress and the United Nations about online terrorist recruiting, Facebook added to its Community Standards a ban on “organizations with a record of terrorist or violent criminal activity.” This modest rule has since ballooned into what’s known as the Dangerous Individuals and Organizations policy, a sweeping set of restrictions on what Facebook’s nearly 3 billion users can say about an enormous and ever-growing roster of entities deemed beyond the pale. Making the creation of music, no matter how simple or fun, a meaningful moment for those who engage in it will be a critical cultural aspect successful social music propositions will need to hit on the nose – and when they do, they will far outperform their scrambling copycat competitors. To ward off accusations that it helps terrorists spread propaganda, Facebook has for many years barred users from speaking freely about people and groups it says promote violence. ![]() Social music will need to keep this intrinsically social aspect at heart, and not fall into the Facebook trap of a mere marketing apparatus, if it is to maintain cultural relevance – and abstain from destroying musical appreciation by devaluing it to just another branded, ad-riddled activity. Music is about emotional connection, and at heart is a shared moment between audience members and the musicians themselves. The social is losing the true element of social – and thus its core value proposition, leaving open opportunity for new ideas. Increasingly, they have – for purposes of monetisation – become about the communication of brands to consumers, rather than for people amongst each other. Really, social networks are about communication. It, too, has borrowed certain ideas to create Shorts – but on the back of what is already a social music and video platform and with the entire audio catalogue of YouTube behind the proposition, it does make a certain amount of sense. YouTube is perhaps the only incumbent app which has not scrambled to reinvent itself after every latest trend, and it is a welcome breath of confident consistency that has probably, to its credit, contributed to its longevity. Clubhouse emerged, offering something new – and then Twitter made its own version, and now Spotify has one as well. ![]() On the other hand, is Facebook’s latest offering really such a good thing? It is not a terribly huge announcement, to be fair – but it is just one more instance in a long line of pseudo-vations by the incumbent platforms that have become monotonously predictable. Facebook the Behemoth offering to make music videos part of its social broadcast for users is a resounding clarion call to get on board now, or risk being too late. There are caveats, of course, but between Roblox DJ sets and TikTok duets on the one side making music creation an easy and enjoyable activity, and falling streaming revenues for artists on the other hand rendering it a relative dead end as the be-all-end-all distribution and revenue generator of the industry, social music – and the monetisation opportunities, fandom generation, and popular engagement which come alongside that – seems to be a growing opportunity on the cusp of realisation. Music has been returned from the prestigious to the people, hurrah, etc. It is a logical progression of events that familiarity with the tools and ease of access will open the doors to the masses getting involved in that which they love – and it truly is a testament to streaming that a love of music is now so commonplace. On the music side, we (should) have known that social music will be the next stage of innovation for the industry essentially since TikTok started rocketing users to stardom overnight, as meanwhile young people – digital natives who tend to be hyper-social – started to pick up instruments at unprecedented rates. The move has two main sets of implications. Facebook has just rolled out a new option to share clips of music videos to its Stories, which will be fully available to users by August 16th. ![]()

Dispersed camping boondocking oregon5/28/2023 ![]() ![]() They have a Wal-Mart there for most stuff, but they also have a Grocery Outlet for some cheap buys and hard-to-find items. The three weeks we camped there we made good use of our trips into La Grande, OR for supplies. Get a old fashioned trap, and spread plenty of peanut butter on it. If you plan to camp here, bring traps, and don’t fuss with those fancy traps that hide the dead mouse from sight. After modifying the traps, it would take me several attempts at getting the trap set, and several aching fingers (from the trap snapping on to me).īut it was worth it. ![]() Otherwise, these mice could easily lick the peanut butter off of the trigger platforms without setting them off. But, I had to modify them to make them more sensitive. The only way to get them was with the conventional mouse traps (the spring-loaded bar). These mice very delicate, very sensitive. We caught five mice there over the three weeks. They seem to know to invade rigs when they see them. Seems this campsite has a lot of mice who’ve built up experience with RVers. I’m thinking about taking down the WeBoost. I’m actually getting better results using a simple little window-antenna that plugs into a hotspot device. Xbox nobody saves the world5/28/2023 ![]() ![]() However, I didn't particularly enjoy doing this in Nobody Saves the World. the whole "it's the destination, not the journey" thing). I myself really love theory crafting builds and thinking about how to make an OP build (i.e. In these dungeons, you will typically need to think about how best to create a build in order to deal with the enemies along with the dungeon modifiers. This creates a lot of combinations for you to try out. ![]() Apart from the basic attack of each form which can't be changed, you can use any of the various passive and active abilities with any of your unlocked forms. ![]() The way the gameplay works in Nobody Saves the World is that you can unlock various different forms that each have various passive and active abilities. Instead, Nobody Saves the World focuses more on the build creating aspect of Action-RPG's. The goal is not really to become as powerful as possible and loot enemies over and over again……because there's really not any loot in this game. Nobody Saves the World takes a different approach to Action-RPG's. While that might be fun for a few hours, it can quickly become boring. After all, the whole point of these games is to farm monsters for loot as fast as possible, so you can get to the point where you basically just walk around and everything just dies around you. One of the reasons I don't typically like Action-RPG's is that you can become too powerful. Let's be open minded and try out this game. However, I saw a review that really sung the praises of this game, so I thought why not.
